Marine Time Systems

Reliability and precision have been a major focus throughout the history of the Mühle family ever since as early as 1869, when Robert Mühle founded a company manufacturing precision measuring instruments for the local watch industry and watchmakers' school in Glashütte, Germany.  It was therefore only natural for us to link up with this long tradition and to develop chronometers, ship's clocks and a new generation of marine secondary timepieces.

We know that the life of a ship’s clock on board is not always easy. It is consistently in motion, surrounded by salt-bearing air and has to cope with ever-changing climactic conditions. In this environment it is not only precision that counts but also reliability and robustness. For this reason, our chronometers always have quartz mechanisms, which are highly precise and durable and require little maintenance to stand up to the challenge of life at sea.
