On August 8, 2025, more than 1,000 runners conquered the impressive Königstein Fortress – more than ever before in the history of the Sparkassen-Festungslauf. This year, Mühle-Glashütte took part for the first time as the official timekeeper, supporting this long-standing race as a new sponsor.
The title official timekeeper couldn’t be a better fit for our core expertise: precise time measurement – something we’ve been perfecting in Glashütte since 1869.
Among the participants was our head of manufacture, Dustin Mühle – a proud member of TSV Bärenstein and an avid runner himself. He took on the challenge of joining both amateur and elite athletes in tackling the 8.8-kilometer main course up to the fortress.
The 21. Sparkassen-Festungslauf 2025 was an event full of records: both the women’s and men’s categories saw new best times. Fourteen-year-old Julia S. and 22-year-old Felix F. both claimed victory in their debut race. A total of 970 runners crossed the finish line – a new record for the number of finishers.
