For the launch of the new S.A.R. Mission-Timer, a special edition of 63 unique pieces has been introduced. Each case back of the limited edition is engraved with the name and silhouette of one of the 63 sea rescue cruisers or boats of the DGzRS rescue fleet. A share of the sales proceeds from the special series will be donated to the sea rescuers.

Elaborate engraving on the case back

The laser engraving is accurate to 3/100 mm. This means that the "Hellmut Manthey", for example, can be depicted on a scale of approx. 1:536. The SAR-lettering on the hull is then only 0.7 mm high and with a magnifying glass even the ship's name on the deckhouse of the boat is still legible.

The sea rescuers

The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) is responsible for the maritime search and rescue service in the German areas of the North and Baltic Seas. 180 salaried and around 800 volunteer sea rescuers carry out around 2,000 missions every year.

The entire independent and autonomous work of the sea rescuers is financed exclusively by voluntary contributions, without claiming tax money. Since the DGzRS was founded in 1865, its crews have rescued more than 86,000 people from distress at sea or from imminent danger.

“As a member of the decision-making body of the sea rescuers, I personally and our company feel the need to contribute to their work. We have been working together successfully for many years and it always impresses me that there are people who are committed to helping people in distress at sea. We can now also support their commitment thanks to your help. Because we are donating the proceeds from our unique edition to the sea rescuers on the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Thank you very much!”

Thilo Mühle, Managing Director & 5th generation of the family business

The exclusive "unique edition"

While the 46-metre-long HERMANN MARWEDE, for example, is used around Helgoland on the open sea – the 7-metre-short ZANDER is often used in shallow Bodden waters. Thus, the total of 10 classes of sea rescue cruisers and boats are perfectly matched to their respective purposes.

We present selected boat classes of available unique pieces here.

9,5-/10,1-metre-
Sea rescue boat

The most striking feature of this class of ship is the delta shape of the hull. It ensures high stability with low resistance and good sea properties, especially when running offshore. The 9.5/10.1-metre sea rescue boats are used in almost all areas of the German North and Baltic Seas. They are driven by volunteer crews. They live and work in the vicinity of their station, are at the harbour within a few minutes after being alerted, crew the boat and set off for the mission.

8,9-metre-
Sea rescue boat

The 8.9 metre long, three metre wide and only 65 centimetres deep so-called Rigid Buoyant Boat (RBB) is robust, easy to handle and can be maintained without a special shipyard. The DGzRS uses these units at stations that secure extensive areas characterised by shallow water, such as the Schlei or the Bodden waters. This is where the advantages of this type of boat come into their own.

8,5-Meter-
Sea rescue boat

From the subsidiary boats of the first rescue cruisers, the DGzRS developed small independent units driven by volunteer crews at the beginning of the 1970s: the rescue boats. As successors to the first two classes of these small but powerful units, the next generation was created 20 years later: the 8.5-metre class.
30 years since our refoundation.

Time to celebrate.
