For every watch sold, €100 went straight to the sea rescuers – adding up to a total donation of €16,000. The symbolic check handover took place on December 6 aboard the sea rescue cruiser HERMANN MARWEDE, a moment that truly moved all of us.
Our CEO, Thilo Mühle, personally traveled from Glashütte to the North Sea for the occasion. “What connects us is our uncompromising demand for technology and safety,” he says. For us, this is more than a principle: both our watches and the work of the sea rescuers must perform reliably under extreme conditions – driven by passion and genuine emotion.
DGzRS Managing Director Nicolaus Stadeler expressed his sincere thanks for the support and the many years of close connection. For more than 20 years, we’ve shared a strong, almost personal partnership. It shows not only in our annual donations, but also in the watches we develop together—models whose proceeds directly support rescue missions in the North and Baltic Seas.
Both the DGzRS and Mühle-Glashütte look back on a long tradition. The sea rescue service was founded in 1865, our manufactory just four years later. And since 2002, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer – developed together with DGzRS crews – has been built to meet the toughest demands at sea.
With the limited “160 Years DGzRS” special edition, we didn’t just want to honor the courage and dedication of the rescue crews. We also wanted to highlight two special anniversaries: 150 years of the donation boats and 160 years of the DGzRS.
This project shows what’s possible when technology, trust, and shared values come together—and how proud we are to stand alongside the sea rescuers as they carry out their vital mission.
