An extraordinary watch for an extraordinary occasion: The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer “SK Hamburg” was developed on the occasion of the naming of the new rescue cruiser HAMBURG. Just like the new ship, it underlines the special bond that Mühle-Glashütte and the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association have with the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

How deep this goes is made clear by a fact: Contrary to its traditional rule, the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association announced the name of the new rescue cruiser HAMBURG even before the naming. Its daughter boat ST. PAULI was named after a Hamburg district and was determined through an online vote between all of Hamburg’s 104 districts. As part of the “Donation maneuver: HAMBURG becomes a sea rescuer”, it has already been possible to collect many generous donations to finance the new ship.

The German Maritime Search and Rescue Association finances its important work exclusively through donations, which are not least used for the construction of new rescue cruisers. With the new special edition limited to 150 pieces, Mühle-Glashütte and Juwelier Wempe are also supporting the important work of the sea rescuers. A cooperation with the Hamburg family business was more than obvious due to the close ties with the Hanseatic city. The new special edition will be available exclusively from Juwelier Wempe. In addition, both companies donate 100 euros to the rescue workers for every watch sold.

In 2002 the first S.A.R. Rescue-Timer handed over to the foremen of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association. This event marks the beginning of a friendly partnership, which also includes regular support for sea rescuers from Mühle-Glashütte.
