Time comes, advice comes – and finally the good deed: on May 6, 2022, Thilo Mühle and Peter Peters, Managing Directors of Jeweler Wempe Leipzig, handed over a symbolic check for 15,000 euros to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service in the Fassmer shipyard.
The amount comes from the sale of a special edition limited to 150 pieces that Mühle-Glashütte and Jeweler Wempe presented in August 2020 shortly after the christening of the sea rescue cruiser HAMBURG. While the donation amount was already transferred after the special edition had been completely sold, the ceremonial handover of the symbolic check could only take place with a delay due to the corona virus.
The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service finances its important work exclusively through donations and voluntary contributions, which are used not least for the construction of new sea rescue cruisers. With the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer “SK Hamburg” Mühle-Glashütte and Jeweler Wempe support the important work of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service.
A cooperation with the Hamburg family company was more than obvious due to the close connection with the Hanseatic city and the name of the sea rescue cruiser. The special edition was therefore exclusively available from Jeweler Wempe. In addition, both companies donate 100 euros to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service for every watch sold, which Jeweler Wempe and Mühle-Glashütte contribute equally to the donation amount.
