German-German Watch Set

Teutonia IV „30 Jahre Deutsche Einheit“

October 3, 2020 will mark the 30th anniversary of the German reunification. MeisterSinger and Mühle-Glashütte are setting a horological monument to this anniversary: with a limited special edition

Germany was divided for over 40 years. In 1989 the inner-German border fell and on October 3, 1990, East and West Germany were finally reunified. These historical events form the basis for a unique special edition for the 30th anniversary of German unity. Because it is manufactured jointly by a West and an East German watch manufacturer: MeisterSinger from Münster in Westphalia and Mühle-Glashütte from the eastern Ore Mountains.

We got to know and appreciate each other at watch fairs and joint projects. This gave rise to the idea of a “reunification watch”. Based on the MeisterSinger N°03 and Teutonia IV from Mühle-Glashütte, we developed the special edition together. We think there is no better way to express German unity.

Each watch in the special edition is made in two versions: The watch set with the Teutonia IV and MeisterSinger N°03, limited to 30 pieces, is characterized by a particularly elegant two-tone case with an 18-carat yellow gold bezel. In addition, all of the applied indices on the black dial, the hour and minute hands and the dates for 3, 10 and 30 are gold-plated on the Teutonia IV. The second hand and the corresponding digits on the outer seconds and minutes scale, on the other hand, are kept in red. So the design of the reunification watches tastefully plays with the German colors black, red and gold.

The second variant of the Teutonia IV “30 Jahre Deutsche Einheit” has a 41 millimeter stainless steel case and is limited to 60 pieces. When it comes to gold, this model is a bit more reserved: In addition to gold-plated indices at 3, 6, 9 and 12, the dates for the 3rd, 10th and 30th day of the month shows the colour gold.

Reliable SW 200-1 do their job inside both models. To top it off, they have a specially developed reunification rotor. The uniformly designed automatic rotor is common to all timepieces of the special edition from MeisterSinger and Mühle-Glashütte and has an engraving of the unified Germany. This shows the locations of MeisterSinger in the west and Mühle-Glashütte in the east.

In addition, we support the Heinz Sielmann Foundation with the special edition. She takes care of the protection of the Green Belt, i.e. the former inner-German border strip, which is now a protected place for rare plants and animals. We donate 100 euros from the proceeds of each “reunification watch” to the foundation for its remarkable work.

30 years since our refoundation.

Time to celebrate.
