From a hike along the Neckar to a visit to the fairytale Eltz Castle: we’ve received lots of great suggestions for Mühle in Motion WEST in the last few days. We felt particularly attached to one suggestion: like the Bastei in the Elbe valley near Pirna, the Externsteine in the Wiembecke valley near Horn-Bad Meinberg are among the most famous natural monuments in Germany.
Since ancient times, legends and myths have surrounded the Osning, today’s Teutoburg Forest. Two of its landmarks are the Hermanns monument, visible from afar, and in its immediate vicinity: the Externsteine.
The Externsteine are located in an idyllic and well-developed park. At their feet, the Wiembecke river widens into a small pond – from their 40-metre-high peaks, you have a beautiful view of the surrounding nature reserve.
The Externsteine are definitely worth a visit. We cordially invite you to explore the 40-metre-high rock formation together. Here is the first information about our second weekend excursion at Mühle in Motion:
