Since February 2002, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer has not only proven itself in the everyday life of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS), but has also conquered a permanent place in the hearts of many watch fans. The 10,000th S.A.R. Rescue-Timer has been manufactured, which we are now auctioning off for the benefit of the sea rescuers.
The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and Mühle-Glashütte have been working together since 2002 when it comes to timekeeping. Because in February of that year, the first S.A.R. Rescue-Timer were handed over to the foremen of the DGzRS. The watch was developed together with them and tailored to the extreme demands at sea.
Seafaring competence and horological know-how resulted in a wristwatch that can withstand the toughest conditions: The best example of this is the 4 mm thick sapphire glass, which can withstand enormous water pressure and, above all, can withstand harder impacts. This is how the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer has not only been able to prove itself in the tough everyday life of sea rescuers in recent years, but has also conquered a permanent place in the hearts of many watch fans.
Shortly before his 20th birthday as a rescue watch the 10,000th S.A.R. Rescue-Timer has been made. We are now auctioning this watch until August 31, 2022, 6:00 p.m. in favor of the sea rescuers. Because over the years, a close, almost friendly partnership has developed between the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and Mühle-Glashütte. In addition to regular donations and specially developed special editions, this is now also manifested in the auction of a special watch, the proceeds of which go to the important work of the DGzRS.
